About

Startup Student came out of a need like all good ventures. I was sick of trying to be sold something whenever I went to a blog that dealt with entrepreneurship. I wanted real TANGIBLE resources. Real content. I have started a couple of businesses in my day and so I thought that compiling some of my knowledge and others’ would be helpful to the community at large. I have a network of people who have also started their own businesses. They will be adding content on there as well.

I know that’s a hefty promise but I plan on accomplishing it. How?

Good question. I will be brining in relevant content (not just techy, internet, make millions with a blog content). Yes the internet is great but not everyone wants to start a business on the internet. I will be brining in guest bloggers from Universities. Professors of Entrepreneurship. People who have built business’ before and have degree’s for doing it. I also plan on bringing in people who have started there own business to impart their wisdom and knowledge with you.

Let me know how I can help – recovering entrepreneur turned academic (PhD in entrep) turned economic developer/social entrepreneur… or that’s what I tell my family, LOL.

    Cheers,

Hey, your blog seems like an excellent idea–there is a true lack of quality content out there. Readers would love to learn more about who is writing here! We want to know who we are taking advice from, no matter what their experience–let us know who the real people are behind the site!

Keep up the great work and let me know if you or any other entrepreneur needs help.

This is a great site Adam. Great idea. My current site is the opening marketing salvo to a startup I am currently finishing the business plan for. Its already taught me a lot about SEO. You will be seeing me frequently on your site.

Adam, Great site you have here! You may want to consider adding YoungEntrepreneur.com to your resources as well as the blog they have.
I have been a big fan of theirs since I have really started meeting some wonderful fellow entrepreneurs (and even my current business partner).

    Keep up the great posts!

    Adam,

I found you out of curiosity about who subscribed to my Twitter feed. I’ve only spent a couple minutes on the site but really like what you are up to, and what I’ve seen so far. Keep me in mind for “Sales” related content – my niche is teaching sales to non-sales people (Techs and Execs). Best of luck to you!

Hi, I don’t quite know how to say this delicately, but do you use voice writing to do your posts? I see so repeated spelling errors in your Twitter posts…there for their, for example. In reading this About page I see guess for guest. Spellcheck wouldn’t catch either of those, of course.

    @Barbara,

AHAHAHH. No. Its either me or Jeremey. I suck at spelling and grammar in general.

You wanna be my editor!?! I do need one.

    Greetings from Glanmire, Cork.

I wonder if I could be useful to you? I’ve only just now logged on and read your “about” page.

I hope to read more and think.

Your twitter that you were looking for writers hooked me but I’m pretty stretched on many projects right now. I’ll do my best.

    All the best

    Hi Adam,
Great site. I started my business, Optix Solutions Ltd in the UK 10 years ago at university, I have now started my blog to try and help students here in the UK with the lessons i’ve learnt, the pitfalls and hopefully inspire others to go out on their own. My blog is http://www.iambanksy.co.uk if you’re interested.

Thanks and good luck from across the pond :)
