Let’s get right in to it.
How does one start a business? It’s easier then most people think. I will be going through different types of business’ and how to start them in this post. Plain and simple. More depth in later posts.
Clothing design
Most people think this is a very hard industry to gain entry into. Not true. With cafepress.com and other quick turn around shops it makes it super easy to start your own clothing label.
You don’t need expensive computer software, a marketing department or a massive amount of start up capital to get this thing off the ground.
Expensive computer software is replaced with — Gimp
Gimp also has some great tutorials as well to help bridge the learning gap! Remember Google is your friend!
A marketing department is replaced with — Social networking (we’ll have a post on that in the future)
Massive amount of capital is replaced with — your own capital … I can’t lie the start up funds will have to come from you but the capital is not a lot. Check out the pricing and don’t be afraid of calling some local shops and asking questions. Most times … the local shops are cheaper … no shipping!
Become a banker
If you have been endowed with large amounts of cash or if you have made a ton of cash then becoming an investment banker is a great idea. Peer to peer lending is a ‘new’ way to make some money. Prosper.com is a one of the most reputable ones out there. I don’t have a ton of experience in this but I know of a couple of people who have had great success with this business model. Online store
Starting an online store has never been as easy as it is now. With yahoo.com, ebay.com and amazon.com starting you’re online store has become incredibly easy.
The hardest part of the online store is … what to sell! This is where most people go wrong. Start with nic-nac’s around your house. If your like me you have ton of stuff just hanging around that could bring someone else joy. Once you have sold all of your unused items move onto other peoples stuff. Offer to sell your friends nic-nac’s for a commission or for a set price and then you pass on the profits to them and take a percentage.
Well that’s it for now. More content to come.
